INTRODUCTION
Forgiveness is not a suggestion in the Christian life; it is a command by God. Jesus made it clear that if we forgive others, our heavenly Father will forgive us. Forgiveness is not about pretending that the hurt did not happen. It is about releasing the offense so it no longer controls your heart.
Unforgiveness is a heavy burden. It keeps wounds open, blocks peace, and can even hinder prayer. When you hold on to bitterness, you are the one who carries the weight. But when you forgive, you free yourself. Forgiveness does not mean you approve of what was done.
It means you trust God enough to handle justice. It means you choose obedience over emotion. It means you allow healing to begin. The greatest example of forgiveness is Jesus on the cross. Even in pain, He said, “Father, forgive them.” If Christ could forgive in that moment, then through His grace, we can forgive too.
When you forgive, you invite peace back into your heart. You increase your love for others. You close the door to anger, bitterness and open the door to freedom and restoration. Forgiveness is not weakness, it is spiritual strength. Choose forgiveness today, and walk in freedom.
Today, the Holy Spirit is revealing the root cause of your problem. There is someone you have refused to forgive. It might be your father who abandoned you. Your mother who abused you. Your spouse who betrayed you. Your friend who destroyed your reputation. Your sibling who cheated you. Your pastor who disappointed you.
And because you’re holding onto that offense, heaven is holding back your answer. When you refuse to forgive, you’re not punishing them; you’re imprisoning yourself. He whispers in your ear, “Don’t forgive them. They don’t deserve it. They didn’t even apologize. They’re not feel sorry. If you forgive them, you’re weak.
Forgiveness does not mean what they did was okay. It doesn’t mean you pretend it never happened. It doesn’t mean you trust them again immediately. It doesn’t mean there are no consequences for their actions. It doesn’t mean you must continue in relationship with them if they’re toxic or abusive.
Forgiveness simply means you release them from the debt they owe you and you release yourself from the prison of bitterness. When you forgive, you activate divine forgiveness over your own life. Your prayers start getting answered. Your worship becomes acceptable. Your breakthrough accelerates.
Things that were stuck suddenly begin to move. Doors that were locked mysteriously open for you. Favour that was blocked begins to flow. Why? Because you’ve removed the spiritual blockage that was hindering heaven’s intervention.
When you forgive, you release the supernatural power of God to fight your battles. Romans 12:19 says, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” As long as you’re trying to get revenge, God steps back and lets you handle it. But when you release the person to God, He takes over the case.
And beloved, God’s vengeance is far more effective than anything you could ever do. He sees what you didn’t see. He knows what you don’t know. And His justice is perfect.And after you forgive them, I want you to ask God to forgive you for holding onto unforgiveness.
Because unforgiveness is sin, and it needs to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Then I want you to forgive yourself for the mistakes you’ve made, the opportunities you’ve lost, the time you’ve wasted. Some of you are harder on yourselves than you are on anyone else. Today, receive God’s forgiveness and extend it to yourself.

A Word from the Lord

Do not be discouraged by delays. What seems slow is still My hand at work. I am aligning things in your favour. I am breaking barriers that stood before you. I am silencing voices that rose against you.
Release what you have been holding onto. Forgive, and allow Me to heal you. Trust Me with your battles. Trust Me with your future. I am faithful to complete what I have started in your life. This is not your season of defeat. It is your season of restoration. Stand firm. Stay in prayer. Remain confident in My promises. I am with you, and I will not fail you.”
