1. Commit the Business to God From the Beginning

Do not wait until the business becomes successful before involving God. Commit the idea, plans, finances, products, customers, decisions, and future of the business to Him from the beginning. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

2. Examine Your Motive

Ask yourself why you want to start the business. Is it only for money, status, competition, or the desire to prove something to others? While making a profit is legitimate, your business should also be built on value, integrity, service, and responsible stewardship.

3. Seek God’s Wisdom and Direction

Do not assume that every profitable-looking opportunity is the right opportunity for you. Pray for wisdom before making major decisions and ask God to direct you toward the business, market, location, products, and strategies that are appropriate for your season.
