Hearing A Knock At The Door
Opening Scriptures
“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day.” (Psalm 91:5)
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” (Psalm 91:10)
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalm 91:3)
Introduction
Your door is your home entrance. Your door is your family access point. Your door is your spiritual boundary. Your door is where visitors come through. And in many cultures, doors have been used spiritually for oppression, monitoring, and affliction. That is why you must cover your doors with prayer.
When someone knocks unexpectedly especially in the dream, you should not panic, but you should not be careless or pay less concern about it. You should speak peace over your home. You should declare that only what God has ordained will enter.
Prayer when someone is knocking is a prayer of protection. It is a prayer of discernment. It is a prayer of divine control and protection. Sometimes, the knock may be the beginning of a new season. God may be bringing you into something new. A door may be opening for your ministry, your career, your marriage, your calling.
But the enemy may also try to bring counterfeit knocks, distractions that look like opportunities. That is why Jesus said, “I am the door.” When Jesus becomes the door of your life, you will not open yourself to destruction.
Beloved, you must pray that your door will not become a point of invasion. You must pray that your door will become a gate of blessing. You must pray that no stranger will enter your life with evil intention. You must pray that every knock that is not from God will be silenced.
And finally, you must also understand that sometimes God is knocking through instruction. God is knocking through conviction. God is knocking through opportunities to repent, to grow, to move forward. The question is: will you open to Him?
Some people are quick to open doors to people, but slow to open doors to God. Today, as you hear this message, may you open your heart to the Lord. May you not miss divine visitation. May you not entertain demonic intrusion. May your doors be secured by prayer, by wisdom, and by the Spirit of God.
Let your home be covered. Let your life be covered. Let your destiny door be protected. When someone knocks at your door, don’t just rush. Don’t just fear. Pray. Because prayer gives you the right response. May the Lord stand at your door as a defense. May He filter what comes in. May He block what is evil. May He release what is good. In Jesus’ name.
PRAY IT NOW
1. I speak to the spiritual atmosphere of my home right now. I command every dark presence that has been lingering in my house to leave. Every shadow in the corner, every heaviness in the bedroom, every strange feeling in the hallway, every oppression in the living room, I command you to go now. The light of God fills this house from the foundation to the rooftop. Darkness has no room here, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every dream where I heard knocking and opened the door out of fear, out of curiosity, or out of confusion, I cancel the consequences of that action. Whatever entered my life because of that opened door, I cast it out now. I did not know what I was doing, but now I know. And in the authority of Christ, I reverse every entry, every deposit, and every transaction that took place at that door, in the name of Jesus.
3.. Father, I ask You to post angelic guards at every door of my home. Not just the physical doors but the spiritual doors. The door of my eyes, let angels guard what I see. The door of my ears, let angels guard what I hear. The door of my mouth, let angels guard what I speak. The door of my heart, let angels guard what I feel. Every gateway into my spirit is under angelic surveillance from this moment forward, in the name of Jesus.
4. Every evil personality that has been standing at my door in the spirit, waiting for an opportunity to enter, I command you to leave my doorstep now. You have been standing there too long. You have been lurking too long. You have been plotting too long. But today the fire of God falls on my doorstep and burns every evil presence to ashes. Leave and never return, in the name of Jesus.
5. I break the power of every dream where I was unable to close my door. Some people dream that they are trying to shut the door but their hands are weak, the lock is broken, or the door keeps swinging open. If this has been my experience, I declare that my spiritual strength is renewed today. My hands are strong. My lock is firm. My door obeys my command because I command in the name of Jesus. Door, shut now and stay shut, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every generational open door that has given the enemy easy access to my family for years, for decades, for centuries, I locate you today by the light of the Holy Spirit and I slam you shut. Every door of alcoholism that has been open in my bloodline, shut now. Every door of poverty that has been open in my bloodline, shut now. Every door of premature death that has been open in my bloodline, shut now. Every door of marital failure that has been open in my bloodline, shut now. Every door of mental illness that has been open in my bloodline, shut now. They are all closed. They are all sealed. They are all padlocked by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
7. I decree that no weapon fashioned against me shall be delivered to my door. Every arrow of sickness, stop at the gate. Every arrow of poverty, stop at the gate. Every arrow of shame, stop at the gate. Every arrow of death, stop at the gate. The blood of Jesus is my security checkpoint, and no evil delivery passes through, in the name of Jesus.
8. Father, I pray for the physical doors of my home. I pray for the lock on my front door. I pray for the bolt on my back door. I pray for the latch on my windows. Let them function properly in the natural and in the spiritual. Let no thief, no intruder, no criminal, and no attacker be able to penetrate my home. My physical security is backed by spiritual authority. I am safe by day and safe by night, in the name of Jesus.
9. Every person who has visited my home with evil intentions, who came through my door with a smile on their face but a curse in their heart, who sat in my living room and observed my blessings with envy, who used my bathroom and deposited a charm, who touched my walls and placed a spell, who admired my possessions and cast an evil eye, I cancel every evil they left behind. I neutralize every curse. I destroy every charm. I break every spell. I blind every evil eye. My home is cleansed by the fire of the Holy Ghost right now, in the name of Jesus.
10. I speak to the door of my career. Every promotion that has been blocked at the door, come through now. Every salary increase that has been held at the gate, be released now. Every favour with my boss that has been delayed at the entrance, manifest now. The door of my career swings open for advancement, for increase, for recognition, and for divine establishment, in the name of Jesus.
11. Every altar in my family compound, in my village, in the land of my birth, where sacrifices have been offered to keep the doors of my life closed, I send the fire of God to consume that altar right now. Let every sacrifice burn to nothing. Let every priest at that altar scatter in confusion. Let the altar itself crumble to dust. My doors are controlled by God alone, not by any village altar, in the name of Jesus.
12. I speak to every door of divine connection. Let the right people knock on my door at the right time. Let helpers find me. Let mentors locate me. Let business partners discover me. Let divine friends be drawn to me. I open the door of my life to every God sent connection, and I welcome them with open arms and a grateful heart, in the name of Jesus.
13. Every spirit of loneliness that has been assigned to make sure nobody ever knocks on my door, nobody ever visits me, nobody ever reaches out to me, nobody ever includes me, I bind you and I break your power. I am not alone. I am not forgotten. I am not abandoned. God is bringing people to my door. Good people. Kind people. Faithful people. Loving people. My season of isolation is over, in the name of Jesus.
14. I cancel every evil invitation that was extended to me through a dream. If any spirit invited me to come through a door, to enter a room, to follow them down a hallway, to step into a building, or to walk through any entrance in the dream, I reject that invitation. I was not called by God to go through that door. I refuse to follow any guide that was not sent by the Holy Spirit. Every evil invitation is cancelled and every evil destination is rejected, in the name of Jesus.
15. Father, I pray specifically for the doors of my country. I pray for the borders, the airports, the embassies, the immigration offices. If I have been waiting for a visa, for travel documents, for permission to enter another nation, I decree that the doors of nations open for me. No country that God has destined me to enter shall refuse me. No border that God has assigned me to cross shall remain closed. I shall enter the land God has prepared for me, in the name of Jesus.
16. Every power that has been using my own household members as agents to open the door for the enemy, Father, I pray for their deliverance. If my spouse has unknowingly opened a door through compromise, deliver them. If my children have unknowingly opened a door through disobedience, deliver them. If a family member living under my roof has unknowingly opened a door through sin, deliver them. Let no one under my roof be a doorway for darkness. Cover them all with the blood. Set them all free by Your power, in the name of Jesus.
17. I speak to every door of revelation and understanding in my life. Open my spiritual eyes so I can see what God is showing me. Open my spiritual ears so I can hear what God is telling me. Open my spiritual mind so I can understand what God is teaching me. I refuse to live spiritually blind, spiritually deaf, and spiritually ignorant. The doors of revelation are open, and wisdom is flooding in, in the name of Jesus.
18. Every evil door that was opened in my life through sexual sin, through fornication, through adultery, through pornography, through masturbation, through any form of sexual immorality, I close that door now by the blood of Jesus. I repent of every sin. I renounce every soul tie. I break every spiritual bond that was formed through ungodly sexual encounters. The door that sin opened, the blood now closes. And no spirit that entered through that door shall remain, in the name of Jesus.
19. I speak to the door of my sleep. My sleep shall be peaceful. My sleep shall be restful. My sleep shall be undisturbed. No evil knock shall wake me in the night. No nightmare shall interrupt my rest. No demon shall visit me between midnight and morning. The Lord gives His beloved sleep, and I receive that gift tonight and every night, in the name of Jesus.
20. Every object in my house that is serving as a spiritual door for the enemy, I ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it to me. If there is an idol, a charm, a talisman, a gift from a suspicious source, a book of the occult, a piece of jewelry with a dark history, or any item that carries a spiritual attachment, Lord, show me. Lead me to it. And give me the courage to remove it from my home and destroy it, in the name of Jesus.
21. I decree that every door of salvation shall open in my family. Every member of my family who has not yet given their life to Christ, I pray for the door of their heart to open. Let the knock of the Holy Spirit reach them. Let them hear the voice of Jesus saying, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” And let them open the door and receive the Lord as their personal Saviour, in the name of Jesus.
22. Every spirit of procrastination that has been making me delay in closing evil doors and opening good doors, I bind you now. I will not postpone my prayer. I will not delay my obedience. I will not wait until tomorrow to do what God is telling me to do today. The doors that need to be closed are being closed right now. The doors that need to be opened are being opened right now. No more delay. No more excuses. No more procrastination, in the name of Jesus.
23. I pray for the doorkeepers in my life. My pastor who stands at the spiritual door of my church, Lord, strengthen them. My parents who stand at the door of my family, Lord, protect them. My spouse who stands at the door of my marriage, Lord, anoint them. Every person who serves as a spiritual covering and a gatekeeper in my life, Lord, empower them, keep them faithful, keep them watchful, and keep them standing, in the name of Jesus.
24. Every evil dream where my door was left wide open, where there was no lock, where anyone could come in and go out as they pleased, I cancel that dream. My door is not open to everyone. My life is not accessible to everyone. I have boundaries. I have standards. I have a lock on my door, and the key belongs to Jesus Christ alone. Not everyone gets in. Not everything is welcome. I am selective by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
25. Father, I pray for the doors of my business. Let customers knock on my door. Let clients seek me out. Let contracts come to my desk. Let favour walk through my office door every single day. My business is a magnet for divine opportunities. People shall come from the north, from the south, from the east, and from the west to do business with me because the hand of God is upon my work, in the name of Jesus.
26. Every door of shame that the enemy has been trying to open in my life, every scandal he has been trying to bring through my door, every embarrassment he has been trying to deliver to my doorstep, I decree it shall not happen. My door is sealed against shame. My entrance is closed to disgrace. What the enemy planned as my public humiliation shall never see the light of day. I am covered by the grace of God, and grace shall answer my door before shame can even knock, in the name of Jesus.
27. I cancel every evil prophecy that was spoken at my door. If any person stood at my door, whether physically or in a dream, and spoke words of curse, words of death, words of failure, words of poverty, or words of sickness over my household, I cancel those words now. They fall to the ground. They bear no fruit. They carry no power. Only the Word of God stands over my home. Every other word is null and void, in the name of Jesus.
28. Every door of my body that the enemy is trying to use as an entrance for sickness, I seal it now. The door of my lungs, sealed by the blood. The door of my heart, sealed by the blood. The door of my kidneys, sealed by the blood. The door of my liver, sealed by the blood. The door of my womb, sealed by the blood. The door of my brain, sealed by the blood. Every organ, every system, every cell in my body is locked against disease and open only to divine health, in the name of Jesus.
29. I speak to every door of generosity and giving. Lord, make me a blessing to others. Let my door be open to those who are in need. Let my home be a refuge for the weary. Let my table be a place of provision for the hungry. As I open my door to bless others, Lord, open the windows of heaven to bless me. I shall be a channel of blessing, not a dead end. What flows through me shall flow back to me multiplied, in the name of Jesus.
30. Every evil sound I have heard in the night, every strange noise at my door, every unexplained banging on my walls, every footstep I heard when no one was there, I rebuke the spirit behind every sound. You are using noise to intimidate me, but I am not afraid. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Your sounds are meaningless. Your threats are empty. My God is bigger than your noise. Be silent, in the name of Jesus.
31. I pray for the door of my testimony. Lord, open the door for me to share what You have done in my life. Give me platforms. Give me opportunities. Give me audiences. Let my testimony reach people who need to hear it. Let the story of how You protected my door, sealed my home, delivered my family, and answered my prayers encourage someone who is going through the same battle right now, in the name of Jesus.
32. Every recurring dream of knocking on a door, I command that cycle to break today. If the enemy has been replaying the same dream night after night, week after week, month after month, I break the loop now. The tape is destroyed. The programme is deleted. The cycle is over. I shall not have the same evil dream again. My dream life is reset by the Holy Ghost, and fresh, new, God breathed dreams shall replace the old patterns, in the name of Jesus.
33. I decree that the door of my old life is permanently closed. Every door that leads back to my former lifestyle, my former sins, my former addictions, my former associations, my former mindset, I padlock it with the finality of the cross. I am a new creation. Old things have passed away. I will not go back through the door I came out of. The door is shut. The past is over. I face forward only, in the name of Jesus.
34. Every spiritual door that the enemy opened in my life while I was in the womb, while I was a baby, while I was a child, before I was old enough to pray for myself, I find that door today and I close it. Whatever my parents did not cover, whatever the enemy exploited during my vulnerable years, whatever entered my life before I had the power to resist it, I deal with it now. The door that was opened in my childhood is closed in my adulthood. No more access. No more exploitation. No more entry, in the name of Jesus.
35. I speak to the door of my future. My future is bright. My future is blessed. My future is filled with the goodness of God. And no evil knock, no witchcraft attack, no familiar spirit, no spirit of death, no spirit of failure, and no spirit of limitation shall have access to what God has prepared for me tomorrow. My future doors are presealed by the blood of the Lamb. By the time I get there, the way is already clear, the table is already set, and the door is already open, in the name of Jesus.
36. Every power that has placed a spiritual doorbell on my house that rings in the spirit realm and alerts demonic agents whenever something good is about to happen to me, I destroy that doorbell now by fire. No alert shall be sent. No notification shall go out. No demon shall be summoned when my blessing arrives. My blessings shall come quietly, safely, and undetected by the enemy, in the name of Jesus.
37. Father, I pray for every person living in rented apartments and houses who do not know what spiritual doors were opened by previous tenants. If the person who lived in this house before me was involved in occultism, witchcraft, blood rituals, or sexual immorality, I cancel every residual spiritual door they left behind. I cleanse this house from their history. I rededicate every room, every wall, every floor, and every ceiling to the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a new house now. It belongs to God now. And only God’s presence shall fill it, in the name of Jesus.
38. Every evil key that the enemy possesses to my door, every duplicate key, every master key, every skeleton key that grants unauthorized access to my life, I melt that key now by the fire of the Holy Ghost. You had a key, but the lock has been changed. The old key no longer works. The only key that opens my door is the key of David, and that key is in the hand of Jesus Christ. Try your old key, devil. It will not turn. The lock has been changed, in the name of Jesus.
39. I declare that my door is a door of praise. When I walk through my door in the morning, praise goes before me. When I return through my door in the evening, thanksgiving follows me. My entrance and my exit are wrapped in worship. The sound of praise is the alarm system that keeps the enemy away, and it is ringing twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, in my home and in my life, in the name of Jesus.
40. Every attack that is scheduled to happen at my doorstep, every accident planned for the moment I step out, every ambush waiting for me just outside my gate, every trap set on my path between my home and my destination, I destroy it before I get there. The fire of God goes ahead of me and burns every trap to ashes. I shall step out of my house safely. I shall arrive at my destination safely. I shall return home safely. The Lord preserves my going out and my coming in, in the name of Jesus.
41. I speak to every door of divine wisdom. Open to me, Lord. Let me make wise decisions about who I allow into my life, who I allow into my home, who I allow into my business, who I allow into my marriage, and who I allow into my inner circle. Not everyone who knocks deserves to enter. Give me the wisdom of a serpent and the innocence of a dove. Let me be welcoming without being foolish. Let me be open without being vulnerable. Let me be kind without being naive, in the name of Jesus.
42. Every power that has been assigned to keep me locked inside, to make me afraid to go out, to make me afraid to try new things, to make me afraid to step through the doors God is opening for me, I bind the spirit of fear and I loose the spirit of boldness. I will not be imprisoned in my own house. I will not be a prisoner of my own comfort zone. I will step out. I will step through. I will step up. The doors are open, and I am walking through them with courage and faith, in the name of Jesus.
43. Father, I pray for supernatural protection over the doors of my church. Let no enemy enter the house of God to cause harm, to spread discord, to plant confusion, or to attack the people of God. Let the doors of my church be gates of salvation, gates of healing, gates of deliverance, and gates of encounter with the living God. Let every soul who walks through those doors meet Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
44. I decree that every door the enemy has slammed in my face is now reopened by the hand of God. The job they said I could not have, God is reopening that door. The relationship they said was over, God is reopening that door. The opportunity they said has passed, God is reopening that door. The visa they said was denied, God is reopening that door. What man shuts, God opens. And what God opens, nobody, nobody, nobody can shut, in the name of Jesus.
45. Every spirit of confusion that makes me open doors God told me to keep closed and close doors God told me to keep open, I bind you and I cast you out. I shall not be confused about my doors anymore. I shall open when God says open. I shall close when God says close. I shall enter when God says enter. I shall walk away when God says walk away. My obedience is my protection, and my discernment is my guide, in the name of Jesus.
46. I seal the door of my tongue. My mouth shall not be a door for the enemy to enter my life. I will not speak curses over myself. I will not speak doubt over my future. I will not speak fear over my family. I will not speak failure over my career. My tongue is a door of blessing. Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and I choose life. Every word that comes out of my mouth shall build, shall bless, shall encourage, and shall prophesy good things into my life and the lives of those around me, in the name of Jesus.
47. Father, I thank You for every battle You have fought on my behalf at the door of my life. Every attack You stopped that I never even knew about. Every agent You turned away before they could reach me. Every curse You blocked before it could land. Every death You prevented before it could strike. I may never know the full extent of what You have done for me, but I thank You. I worship You. I praise You. You are the greatest Doorkeeper I could ever have, in the name of Jesus.
48. I declare over my life, my home, my family, and my future the words of Psalm 121:8 and I make them personal. The Lord shall preserve MY going out and MY coming in from this time forth and even for evermore. Not sometimes. Not occasionally. Not when I remember to pray. EVERMORE. From now until eternity, the Lord is the keeper of my door. He does not sleep. He does not slumber. He does not take breaks. He does not go on vacation. He is watching my door twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year. And He will never, ever, ever stop, in the name of Jesus.
149. And now, Father, I seal this final prayer with everything I have. I seal it with my faith. I seal it with my worship. I seal it with my tears. I seal it with the blood of Jesus Christ. I have prayed one hundred prayers over the doors of my life, and not one of them shall fall to the ground. Not one of them shall return void. Not one of them shall go unanswered.
Every evil door is closed. Every good door is open. Every demonic visitor is expelled. Every divine visitor is welcomed. Every trap is destroyed. Every ambush is scattered. Every curse is broken. Every blessing is released. My home is a fortress. My family is protected. My destiny is secured. And the God who watches my door is the same God who created the heavens and the earth, the same God who parted the Red Sea, the same God who raised Jesus from the dead, and the same God who is alive forevermore.
He is at my door. He is in my house. He is in my life. And because He is there, I have nothing to fear. Nothing to worry about. Nothing to be anxious about. Nothing to lose sleep over. My door is in the hands of the Almighty. And that is the safest place it could ever be. It is done. It is finished. It is sealed. The door is secure. The house is blessed. The family is covered. And the enemy has lost. To God be all the glory, all the honour, all the praise, all the worship, all the adoration, all the thanksgiving, forever and ever and ever, world without end.
